1. PREHISTORIC TIMES
Prehistory
began with the appearance of human beings, about 1 million years ago, and ends
with the invention of writing, around 3,000 years ago.
This period
is divided into 3 ages.
1. Paleolithic: They were hunters and
gatherers. When there was little food left, they migrated to another area; they
were nomads. They lived in caves or huts and they were organized in tribes.
They made their tools out of animal bones and stones. They created them by
hitting one stone against another.

2. Neolithic: it started about 7,000
years ago. We talk about the “Neolithic Revolution” because they learned how to
cultivate plants and domesticate animals. For this reason, they began to
specialize in different tasks. They learned how to make pottery and textiles on
simple looms. They made polished stone tools by using friction to create the
shape they wanted; hand mill, sickle and the hoe.

3. Metal Ages: They began around 6,000
years ago. They made tools and objects from copper, bronze and iron. Towns or
villages located close to areas with metals became cities. There was a leader
to organize their lives and they started to be paid for their work. They
invented the wheel, the plough and the sail.
